He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. (Psalm 107:20)

Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. (Psalm 61:1-3)

Examples of deliverance in the bible

#1 – Jesus casts out an unclean spirit (see Mark 1:21-27)

Note: God’s spirit can enter a person who God wants to use (Genesis 2:7, Ezekiel 2:2), and Unclean spirits can also enter people (Mark 1:21-27)

#2 – Peter’s Mom in-law & the woman with spirit of infirmity (Luke 4:38-41; Luke 13:10-16)

#3 – Demon-Possessed Man (Luke 8:26-36)

Satan Goals

  1. Keep people from knowing God/Christ and being connected to God
  2. Keep Christians from serving God/Christ effectively
  3. Keep people from fulfilling their destinies

Symptoms of Demonization

  1. Enticement
  2. Harassment
  3. Torment
  4. Compel
  5. Enslave
  6. Defile
  7. Deception
  8. Weaken
  9. Restlessness

AREAS OF RESIDENCE/INFLUENCE

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls. (Proverbs 25:28)

  1. Emotions/attitudes
  2. Mind
  3. Tongue
  4. Sex
  5. Lust
  6. Physical bodies
  7. Soul
    1. All false religion
    2. All Heresies (1 Timothy 4)

How demons get in (gain entry)

  1. Occult background
  2. Personal occult involvement (Deut. 18:10-12)
  3. Prenatal influences
  4. Soulish dominion
  5. Pressures in early childhood (James 3:16)
  6. Moments or place of weakness
  7. Sinful acts or habits

How to be delivered:

  1. Be honest
  2. Be humble and seek help from the Lord
  3. Confess faith in Christ
  4. Confess any known sin by self and by ancestors
  5. Repent of all sins (Prov. 28:13)
  6. Break with occult/curses/secret societies/ungodly associations
  7. Forgive others
  8. Expel unclean spirits

Why some people are not delivered

  1. Lack of repentance
  2. Passivity or Lack of desperation
  3. We have authority over evil spirits but not over the human will
  4. Stubbornness -Wrong motives (James 4:3)
  5. Self-centeredness
  6. Failure to break with occult, including removal of occult/superstition objects
  7. Failure to break away from evil, soulish relationships
  8. Under a curse
  9. Failure to confess a specific sin
  10. Not separated by water baptism

How to keep your deliverance

  1. Remain under the Lordship of Jesus
  2. Protect the doorways & gateways of your life
  3. Garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3) – praise God always.
  4. Avoid complaining
  5. Put on the Full armor of God (Eph. 6)
  6. Live by God’s Word (Mathew 4:4). Not by feelings
  7. Submit to God, resist the devil (James 4:7)
  8. Right fellowship (1 John 1:7)
  9. Come under discipline/accountability
  10. Make Jesus your Rock (Psalm 61:1-3)

 “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)
