You can participate in this experience from your home. Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant.

The elements of bread and wine/juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation, rather, it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, join us online to remember his GREAT sacrifice.

If you are not in the place where you consider Christ your Savior then sit back and enjoy the service like normal.

HOW TO TAKE COMMUNION ONLINE
1. Purchase Grape Juice (quantity depends on size of your group)

2. Purchase Bread or Baked Crackers
- Unleavened bread is the best expression of the "bread" element. Unleavened bread simply is bread baked without a rising agent (most large grocery stores stock unleavened bread), but you can select any bread or cracker of your choice.

3. Be Ready at Home with Your Elements
- The teaching pastor will direct you through properly receiving communion. All you need to do is follow along online individually or as a group.

4. Share With Us
- After receiving communion online, please fill out a Connect or email info@therockpointchurch.org letting us know how many in your home participated in receiving communion. Snap a quick photo and include it in your email as well.

Be Still

This week, instead of spinning your wheels and trying to control everything, why not accept God's invitation to STOP, RE-CALIBRATE and REST knowing that He is still in control.

When you rest, you see things in a clearer light. Rest is also a perfect posture of prayer and worship. Today, I invite you to honor God by simply being still!

Next, I encourage you to say this simple prayer “God speak to me, I’m listening”.

In the meantime, here are some updates:

        1. Money Matters Seminar – The Money Matters Seminar scheduled for later today is being rescheduled. Since we have a couple of registrants from outside our church, and due to the new CDC guidelines on gatherings, we want to be sure we are sending the right message to our community. We will let you know the new date when things return to normal.
        1. Online Church Service – Our Sunday worship service will be broadcasted live online. Our church leaders/ministers will be live. We invite you to join us, as we worship God together. You are welcome to join us online or live (if you are not symptomatic). If you join us live, we will maintain the six-feet apart guideline. If you are symptomatic, please let us know (so we can pray for you), and join online @ https://therockpointchurch.org/.Be sure to keep your worship time truly devoted to worshiping God.
        1. Prayer and Fasting – Let us come together as a church family to join in fasting and prayer to combat COVID-19. In Matthew 17:14-21, in response to demonic oppression in the life of a young boy, Jesus prescribed fasting and prayer to His disciples as the antidote to the problem of hopelessness/helplessness they faced. We are faced with this mountain called COVID-19, but we are not hopeless/helpless. We will fast and pray from Monday (March 22nd to Sunday March 29th):
          1. Our prayer objective is to call on the Lord to intervene in this matter
          2. Type of Fast will be partial (6am-12pm, 6am-3pm, or 6am-6pm). Do what you can
          3. Specifically; prayer focus will be for ourselves, families, church nation, and the world
          4. Prayer points and scriptures to be provided on our church updates page on Sunday after service @ https://therockpointchurch.org/updates/
          5. We will pray corporately via teleconference at 9pm daily (Monday to Saturday by dialing 5156049094;883832809)
          6. Reach out to us if you need support or prayers

You and your loved ones are always in our thoughts and prayers. It is going to be well with you and your loved ones. Do not hesitate to reach out to us.

        Blessings,

        Pastors Taiwo & Grace

Prayer is a powerful tool that God has given us to seek peace, wisdom, and courage in the face of fear and confusion. Here are some ideas for prayers you can pray today and throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

        Pray Against Fear

All Powerful One, you spoke the universe into existence. You laid the earth's foundation. Because of you, Lord, the sun rises and the sun sets each day. You are in control over all things. You are my comfort. I pray that your perfect peace, which is beyond understanding, overcomes all fear in this time of uncertainty. Jesus, there is power in… read more

Jesus, there is power in your name, so I confidently declare victory over worry, doubt, and anxiety. I look to you and you alone as my source of hope. Amen.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

Pray for the Sick and Vulnerable

Mighty God, you are more powerful than any pandemic. There is no virus, no sickness, and no pain that you cannot overcome. You are our Healer and Protector. Jesus, we know through your Holy Spirit you have given sight to the blind, made the paralyzed walk, healed the sick, and resurrected the dead. You have conquered the grave. So Lord, it is with bold faith that I pray for miraculous healing and protection over all who have contracted COVID-19 and those who are most susceptible to infection. Father, even when it is difficult to make sense of the current circumstances our world faces, I will put my trust in you and praise your name. Amen.

“O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!” – Jeremiah 17:14

Pray for Those Who Are Searching for Answers or Seeking God

Heavenly Father, you work all things for good. You do not waste a single pain or sorrow. Your light outshines the darkness of disease. Lord, in times of trouble, people fall to their knees looking for answers. Empty and broken hearts are searching for you right now. Reveal yourself, Lord. I pray that your glory and your goodness would be put on display for the world to see in the midst of this global health crisis so that more people will come to know Jesus. Amen.

“For God, who said, 'Let there be light in the darkness,' has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 4:6

Pray for Public Health Officials, Governments, and Healthcare Workers

Holy Spirit, you are the One who gives us strength and knowledge. Lord, you guide the hearts and the minds of your children. You uniquely position people according to the gifts and abilities you give them. I pray that you point public health officials to a vaccine for COVID-19, guide government officials around the world as they make tough decisions, and help healthcare workers as they tend to the sick. God, I pray that those who are leading the charge against this pandemic would look to you for direction. Bless and protect them, Father. Amen.

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” – 1 Timothy 2:1–2

        Dear Church Family,

As our state and nation are gripped by the impact of coronavirus, I want to share the hope of Christ and encourage everyone to turn from fear to faith.

It's very understandable that this pandemic would raise concern in many. The enemy wants us terrified. He comes to steal, kill, destroy. Put your faith in Jesus, who came to give us life in full. Don’t be distracted from looking to Jesus, whose name is greater than any other name.

As a church, we will continue to serve our community by holding physical services on Sunday mornings.

As a church, we will continue to serve our community by holding physical services on Sunday mornings.

As with any other virus or illness, if you are symptomatic, take appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of your immediate family and church family.

We wanted to proactively inform you of the steps we’ve taken as a church today:

        • Following guidance from national and local health organizations
        • Continued adherence to cleaning and sanitation procedures
        • Increasing the frequency of cleaning, especially high-touch areas
        • Directing members who are not feeling well to stay home
        • Continuing to provide recordings of our Sunday sermon online
        • Adding live-streaming our Sunday services on our website for our most

Please refer to the Center of Disease Control & Prevention and the World Health Organization for the most up-to-date information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) including symptoms and steps you can take to prevent the spread of the illness.

As your Pastors, here are a few things we’d like you to remember:

If you are sick, LET US KNOW! As your church family we care. James 5:14 tells us, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.” Reach out to us by visiting the contact page of our church website for email or phone number.

Also, pray, pray, pray. Pray for the sick, your community and church family.

Finally, I encourage you to connect with your small group. If you don’t have a group, please look at our LIFE Groups page on our website and contact us.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; and may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

        Blessings,

        Pastors Taiwo & Grace
